Population & Settlement

Over 7.6 million people live on the planet right now. Also is increasing over 73 million people per year, 8,377 per hour, 149 per minute, and 2.5 per second. About 90% of the population takes place in Africa, South and East Asia and Latin America. Crude birth rate is the number of births per 1000 of the population. Crude death rate is the number of deaths per 1000 of the population. Rate of natural increase (RNI) is produced by subtracting the death rate from the birth rate. This gives us the annual natural growth rate in percentage for a country or region. Net Migration Rate is the difference between the number of people entering and leaving a country during a year. An excess of people entering the country is net immigration. An excess of people leaving the country is net emigration. TFR (Total Fertility rate) is the average number of children born per women. For a population to remain the same, the TFR must be 2.1.

Sago is taken from a palm like tree and turned into dough for the Papua New Guinea people to eat. From a single tree it can produce up to 70 pounds worth of food.

Today in human geo we watched the video and took notes on it. Inequality was born from planting and growing crops. Animal domestication is when you control the feeding, movement, and, breading of animals in a contained environment. In ancient times, animals were used for milk and clothes. Goats and sheep were the first domesticated animals in ancient times. Animals were considered to be one o the most powerful machine before the industrial revolution.  There were 14 different species of domestic animals; goats, sheep, pigs, calves/cows, horse, donkey, bacterial camels, ariatbain camels, water buffalo, llamas, reindeer, yaks, mittens, and belay cattle. No animals came from Papua New Guinea. Every animal expect llamas originated in Asia. The use of animals and better crops helps their civilization grow. The Fertile Crescent is an area built around rivers to improve crops. The rivers in the Fertile Crescent are the Tigris River and Euphrates River.
