The main internal cause of the empire's decline were the military collapse, the political instability, and social decline. 
4. How did Diocletian succeed in preserving the empire?
Diocletian succeed in preserving the empire by splitting the empire into two parts and had two different people to rule each part.
5. Why did so many Germanic tribes begin invading the Roman Empire?
So many Germanic tribes begin invading the Roman Empire because they were flee from their land and need up pushing into the Roman Empire's land.
