Thanksgiving Break

Today in human geo we went over our 5 major religions quiz. I did a lot better on this test than I thought I would. I got a 50/60 on the 5 major religion test. Today was also the last day before Thanksgiving break. I am so happy that we get off for the next five days. I really don't have any plans for Thanksgiving except Im going to my aunt and uncle's for dinner on Thanksgiving. On Thanksgiving I usually wake up and watch the Thanksgiving Day Parade. When we come back from Thanksgiving break we only have eleven school days until exams and Christmas break.

5 Major Region Test

Today in human geography we took a test on five major religions. The five major religions were Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, and Judaism. I don't think I did very well on the test. I defiantly should have study more and spent more time to look over it. But I also think that we should have had a little more time in class to look at these religions. I felt that we just read the slides and then took a test. I wish we went into a little more depth about the religion to really understand it. With the power point I learned a lot about each different religion. I think I had a hard time study for this quiz is because I would keep getting them confused for the other religions. For example, I got Hinduism and Buddhism mixed up a lot. Overall, I should ave studied more for this test and I should have been more prepared to take it.

Population Pyramid Test

In human geo we took a test on population and settlement, and the population pyramid. Going into the test I felt like I know most of it but was still unsure about some things. But for the most part I knew the material pretty well. Then when we got to class he let us look at our notes and review before we took the test. The test was all multiple choice. I know a lot of the answers but I was a little unsure about my answers that I put for the three population pyramid questions. I think that the population and settlement, and the population pyramid website helped a lot with reviewing and study for this test. I also think that our group projects that we worked on last week helped with reviewing for he test we had today.

Test Monday - Population Pyramid

Today in human geography we watched a video about the population pyramid and reviewed our notes on the population pyramid. I feel pretty confident that I will do good on this test. The population pyramid is a daigram that shows the population and the age ranges of a certain country. On the population pyramid it always has the women on the right side of the scale. The men are always on the left side of the scale. The oldest people are at the top of the pyramid. They are counted by five year increments. The prerepreductive age is between four and fourteen. The reproductive age usually is between fifth teen and forty four. The post reproductive ages rage between forty five to death.

Test Monday

Today we studied for our test on Monday. We reviewed the population and settlement powerpoint today. We reviewed the total population, RNI, TFR, crude death rate, crude birth rate, and Net Migration Rate. The total population for the world is over 7.6 million. RNI, the Rate of Natural Increase, is produced by subtracting the death rate from the birth rate. TFR, total fertility rate, is the average number of children born per women. Crude death rate is the number of deaths per 1000 of the population. Crude birth rate is the number of births per 1000 of the population. Net Migration Rate is the difference between the number of people entering and leaving a country during the year. Tomorrow we are reviewing the population pyramid for our test on Monday.

Presentation Results

Today in human geo we graded ourselves on how we think we did on the project and how we presented it. I think I did okay. The one thing that I could've done better was have more eye connect. I  felt like I knew what I was talking about. For this project I was made group leader. This role taught me a lot. It taught me how to work with others and how to be a leader. I definitely did get frustrated with some but for the most part I thought I did a pretty good job group about organizing the group and getting done what needed to be done. I feel that our whole group all did a fair share of the work.  We all did a slide and researched about one topic. Overall, I think everyone knew what they were talking about and that we presented really well.

Presentations

Today in human geo we presented our country projects. We were all put into a group and were given a country to research and find problems that affect the people and the economy of that country. There were two developing countries, Kenya and Conga and two industrialized countries, Japan and Germany. My group had Kenya, a developing country. I feel that my group did pretty well on our presentation. Two things that I would change would be to be louder and look less at the slides on the board. But overall I think we knew what we were talking about and presented very important and major problems in Kenya. I learned a lot bout all the countries, Kenya, Japan, Conga, and Germany.

Kenya's economy

Located in East Africa Has a population of about 48 million Kenya’s economy is the largest in the region The location of the country make it very easy to trade with other economies The economy is still developing due to poor and corrupt government but has been fixed with new institutional reforms that should provide a more developed government Agriculture is huge part of Kenya’s economy, it contributes about 35% of the GDP Kenya’s GDP is $163.7 billion Another huge part of its economy is it’s tourism industry but its has been affected by terrorism in countries that are surrounding Kenya About 44% of Kenya’s population is in poverty

Exams

Today in human geo we reviewed questions about countries and their population. Some questions we about the total fertility rate, crude birth rate, and about the population of the world. He asked us 37 questions about the topics. I knew most of the questions, some I thought I didn't know but I really did know. Mr. Schick also told us about our midterms that we are taking in December. The midterm is going to be about everything that we have learned so far in the year. So everything that we learned about population and settlement, and a message to Garcia. He also told us that he will give us our essay questions a week before our exams, so we can review the questions and make an outline of what we want to write our essays about. Our exams are exactly 6 weeks from today.

Summary of yesterday's work

Yesterday we used world fact book to research information about countries and their population. I learned that world has over 7 billion people in it right now. I also learned about the United States, Chad, Luxembourg, and Monaco's population. The United States has a population of about  329, 256, 465  people. Chad's population is about  15, 833, 116 people.  Luxembourg has a population of about   605, 764   people. Monaco's population is about 30,727.  Some of these countries' population are increasing rapidly, increasing slowly, or even decreasing. For example two countries population that is increasing rapidly is the United Kingdom and Nigeria. Another two examples of countries population that is increasing slowly is Asia and Turkey. An example of a country that's population that is declining is China. After researching all about these countries, I have learned many new things.

10 Point Assignment

The world has a population of 7, 503, 828, 180 and the population growth rate is 1.05%. I find this interesting because the more people that are born the more the population grows. It find it crazy that there are about 7 billion of the Earth right now but you only will know about the people in your town or your city. The country with the third highest population is the United States. The United States has a population of 329,256,465 and the population growth rate is .8%. I find this very interesting because when I think of the United States, I think of the fifty states that make up the United States. When I think of the states and compare it to other countries and their states is shows in big difference. Also I find it interesting that there are over 300 million people in the United States that you will never meet because there are so many people. Chad has a population of 15, 833, 116 and has a population growth rate of 3.23%. I find this interesting because they overall po
